Induction - January 2003

On Sunday, January 19, 2003, four new members were inducted into the Holy Name Society.  The ceremony to induct the new member-candidates was performed by Father Bernard Shea.  After the hymn, Veni Creator Spiritus, was chanted by the Schola Amicorum led by Mr. John Salisbury, the four member-candidates promised to respect and love the Sacred Name of Jesus and to follow the precepts of the Holy Name Society by avoiding blasphemous and obscene speech, observing Sundays and Holy Days of Obligations, and by receiving Holy Communion regularly with the Society.  Twenty-nine new members have now been inducted since the Society was reactivated three years ago.

Father Bernard Shea distributes Holy Name manuals to newly-received members of the Holy Name Society on Sunday, 19 January 2003.
